The Eastern Estate Tea Company was founded in the late 1880s by William Aitken of Johnstown, N.Y. The company’s delivery wagons carried its own line of tea, coffee, cocoa, spices, cereals, rice, maple syrup, peanut butter, and soap products. The company expanded, was eventually headquartered in New York City and had stores throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Today, an Eastern Estate wagon is in the collection of the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook, N.Y.
