  1. I’m working on a paper on the Post Office Ladies’ Window. I thought it was limited to big cities but have found proof that it existed in over 100 offices of all sizes in the United States. Probably was even more prevalent, I just can’t prove it. First mention of them I’ve found is in 1833 in New York City and last in 1911 still operating in Atlanta, Georgia.
